ZCA Temporarily Closed

Dear ZCA Community and Visitors,

As many of you have probably heard, Governor Bill Lee issued a statement on March 16, encouraging all school systems to close by the end of the week. As a result Zion Christian Academy is closed from March 17 through the end of Spring Break. My hope is that we can resume classes on April 6, but a final decision about resuming regular classes will be made closer to that date and will depend on the circumstances around COVID-19 and its impact on our community.

Fortunately, in anticipation of this eventual course of action, teachers had already begun making preparations to deliver instruction, classwork, and assignments via non-traditional methods. While this will be a new experience for all of us, I am confident in the abilities and wisdom of our faculty to equip your child to make academic progress. Please know that our focus will be on the core academic subjects of Bible, English, foreign languages, history, math, and science, with a special emphasis on English and math. Even though we won’t be holding classes in a traditional format, please feel free to communicate with teachers if you have questions or need help.

I continue to pray for God’s protection and healing from this disease. We know that God is good and we should not fear. Psalm 46: 1-3, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling.”

Please stay safe and we will remain in touch via email and our social media accounts as we move through these next several weeks. Your families are in my prayers.

In Christ,

Rick Jarvis
