It's Almost Showtime!

Winter and Spring Musical Productions are Underway

On February 10th, 2018, Zion Christian Academy will be performing, “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.” Practice for the show began on Monday, November 3rd, and it is almost showtime! The show consists of four main children--Peter, played by Stuart Gilbert, Susan, played by Lilly Adcox, Edmund, played by Zack Perko, and Lucy, played by Claire Weber. The director for the show is Mrs. Debbie Hunter, who has an enormous background in the theater arts department and is also an amazing actress. She, along with Juliana Neelley, Miranda Hunter, and Justin South have done an outstanding job or directing and putting together this humorous and action packed drama for the school.

The performance will take place in the Student Activities Center at Zion Christian Academy. You can buy your tickets at the door or buy them online. They are on sale now at itickets.com/ZCALion. Come on out to ZCA on February 10th at either 2 pm or 7 pm to see “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.”

After the performance of “The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe” this weekend, the ZCA Theatre Department will begin focusing on the upcoming spring musical. This year’s spring musical is Shrek: The Musical, directed by Debbie Hunter. ZCA’s production of Shrek will be April 27th and 28th at Zion Christian Academy. Tickets can be purchased at the door or will be available online soon before the show.

Shrek: The Musical is written by David Lindsay-Abaire and Jeanine Tesori. It is a comedy about Shrek, an ogre, who goes on a quest with his witty and fast-talking donkey sidekick to rescue a reluctant princess. The story will put a unique twist on fairy tale characters from Pinocchio to Humpty Dumpty. It is a silly, witty, yet touching musical about individuality and self discovery.

Theatre students have been working hard these past few weeks during the audition process and  hope to have the show cast soon. The show will be April 27th and 28th--times TBD--in the Student Activities Center at Zion Christian Academy. The tickets can be purchased at the door or will soon be available online.
