It’s never too early to begin learning the important lessons and experience gained by participation in athletics.
Zion Christian Academy offers a number of age-appropriate athletic programs that provide our elementary students with the opportunity to discover their own talents and skills.
Zion Youth Leagues
Zion has a youth basketball and a youth indoor soccer league for students in grades 2-5. We are planning to expand these leagues to grades 1-6 with a football league coming later in 2019! These leagues are used to teach students the fundamentals in a safe, Christian environment. These leagues are open to the entire community.
The elementary cross country team begins training in early August. This year, over 40 students, in grades 2 through 5, made up an energetic and determined team that was led by coaches Cindy Craig, Stephanie Corbin and Carrie Moran. Training consists of practices, three times a week, that encourages the runners to build up their endurance and speed. All students compete in the Maury County elementary races held at Columbia-area schools.
Spirit Squad Cheerleading
Zion Christian Academy’s youngest cheerleaders enjoy cheering for the Zion Eagles each fall and raising the spirit of our dedicated Eagle fans. This year there are 58 members that form two teams, The Eaglets (K3 - 1st grade) and the Screaming Eagles (2nd - 5th grade).
The Spirit Squad continues to grow and build on their success as they incorporate new techniques and moves their routines, much to the delight of fans and players alike.
